Establish review points in the document’s life cycle. Everyone should understand when it will be updated and reconsidered.

Define priorities straight based on the method (the logic sequence of jobs and results). What will be realized in the first place and why, what will go in later phases. It’s not working without the next point.

Not only define what you will do (activities) and what outcomes these activities will result in (work products) but also conclude why is this activity is required and how the customer will use the result. For each point! Without such considerations, one cannot put SoW in the proper context of the whole work.

P.S. Don’t forget that SoW should be aligned with contract terms and works well with the scope of operations (ConOps) and WBS only, not by itself.
